Lois Wenzek

Having always dreamed of farming, Lois (who began saving her 10 cent allowance when she was 10 to buy a horse ranch) started the hobby market garden with her youngest son Josh when he was doing junior high in home school.  She has a passion for growing things and providing for the needs of others.  She also enjoys making beautiful flower arrangments which led to the side business of Forget Me Not Farms Floral Design which serves in the high demand wedding florist arena.  She has been involved in youth work at church for many years, and loves opening the Farm up for education to the youth, as well as fun community events like the annual Farm Dance.  Her favorite part of farming ranges from seeding and planting crops, arranging flowers, landscaping the beautiful gardens in the wedding site, to harvesting all of the wonderful produce on the Farm.

Darrell Wenzek

Darrell and Lois moved to the Island from sunny California in 1996 with their three sons, (leaving a daughter and family in California).  When they saw this piece of land with small red barn and vegetable garden they fell in love.  Darrell is a pastor who also owns a construction company called A&D Home Services, specilizing in decks, tile work, and remodeling.  Some of Darrell's favotite things to do on the Farm include harvesting and interacting with the community for special events like the annual Farm Tour, creating gourmet meals fore his family from food grown on the Farm, and building landscape structures like our beautiful arbors.

Josh Wenzek

Josh remmebers riding a tractor with the previous owner who had a small market garden and nursery.  As the garden grew it was apparent to everyone that he had a natural talent for growing things.  After attending Skagit Valley College and receiving an Associates degree his interest in serious farming grew.  Josh has a passion for the needs of the world and is involved in youth work, outreaches to the needy in our community, as well as going overseas on mission trips where he aspires to teach the love of God and farming.  Josh is gifted at interaction with people of all ages, and showing them tips on growing things.  Some of Josh's favorite things to do on the farm include tilling the soil with his John Deer Tractor, harvesting pumpkins, building projects, and landscaping.  Josh married his farm girl Alicia at the farm on July 4th 2009.

Alicia Wenzek

Alicia joined the Farm in 2005.  Coming from a family that always grew food, flowers and raised chickens and sheep, she felt right at home on the Farm.  After many jobs including teaching assistant, home health care, personal assistant, nanny, tutor, she felt the farm was the place she fit really fit.  She has always loved the thought of helping people farm in countries where food is scarce, and has a heart for children.  Alicia is involved in youth work with Josh.  Some of her favorite things to do on the Farm are: decorating the shop and working on all aspects of marketing, planting and caring for seeds in the greenhouse, getting crops in the ground, harvesting flowers, and working on weddings with Lois, and riding the tractor with her arm around her husband farmer Josh.
